Shirakawa-go and Gokayama are one of the exclusive places in Japan to see traditional masterpieces called Gassho-zukuri houses.
Shirakawa-go is more popular with easy access. Ainokura is quieter but it takes more time to get there, so we recommend Gokayama for guests with a car.

Hida Furukawa Sta. -> (JR train 20mins) -> Takayama
Takayama -> (Nouhi bus 1h) -> Shirakawa-go
Shirakawa-go -> （Kanoetsu bus 45mins) -> Ainokura (Gokayama)
